How do I reset IPMI incase of connection problem?

The latest IPMI firmware is quite good so this doesn't happen much, but older versions of the IPMI software would sometimes crash. In the unlikely event this happens, you can reset IPMI using the supermicro IPMIview tool (download from supermicro). Enter your servers IPMI details and connect, click on the "IPMI Device" tab at the bottom of your screen. You will see an area that says "BMC" with a cold reset button. Click this -  you will be disconnected from IPMIview. Wait about 60 seconds and reconnect, IPMI will now work normally.
